My Qualifications:

*BA-Communications; Master of Fine Arts; Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (CLAD)

*Previous board experience: In depth knowledge of all aspects of governing a school district.

While on HBCSD board: built a new building (without overruns); kept a cash reserve of

12-18% of the budget; introduced a visual and performing arts program; began plans for the

successful bond drive; Special Education Program- disputes were handled with little judicial

intervention.

*Teaching Specialist: Currently I train over 125 LAUSD elementary teachers per year

to integrate the Language Arts and Performing Arts Standards together.

Guest Instructor: Chapman University- teaching in the teacher credentialing program

Teacher: South Shores Magnet for the Visual and Performing Arts until Sept. 2005;

while there: Coordinator for the Gifted and Talented Education Program, School Site

Council and PTO Teacher Rep.

*Business Experience: Previous founder/producer of the South Bay Children’s Theater

Family: My husband, Dr. Douglas Holtzinger and three children, Braydon (at UC Berkeley),

Colin, and Adria (at Mira Costa) have been involved in our schools for seven years.
